Handsworth Medical Practice
Handsworth Medical Practice in Sheffield serves the S13 district, which includes Handsworth, Woodhouse, Richmond, Stradbroke and a section of Darnall that is Sheffield S9.
Please be aware that to be registered with the Practice you will need to be in our Practice boundary area within the locations listed above. Please click on the New Patients tab - enter your post code in the Registration section to check if you're in our boundary.
Our team includes 6 Doctors, a Practice Manager, 3 Nurses, 3 Healthcare Assistants, a Practice Pharmacist, and our Reception and Administrative staff. We are a Training Practice where qualified junior doctors can finish their Training, these are known as GP Registrars.
We offer a full general practice service and run numerous clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes, as well as offering a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.

All 'book on the day' appointments at the Surgery are released at 8.00 a.m. for the same day. If you wish to book one of these appointments please phone at 8.00 a.m.
***Please note that from the 4th February 2019 we will no longer be taking repeat prescription requests over the phone - except for patients aged 65 years old or over, patients who are Housebound and patients who are a Carer or Cared for.
Patients can still request prescriptions by using SystmOnline on the internet (see reception for details and to register), posting in your prescription or coming into the surgery and handing it in at reception.
We have had to implement this new way of working due to the large volumes of telephone calls the Practice receives on daily basis. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation.
