Advanced Nurse Practitioner
Nurse Practitioner
Nurses
We have 3 nurses Karen, Louise and Sarah. They provide a range of nursing services including dressings, ear 'syringing, immunisations, injections and cervical smears. They have lots of primary care experience, and are happy to advise on common illnesses and injuries as well as giving dietary and other lifestyle advice. Female patients may also wish to discuss contraception and menopausal issues with them. They run Clinics for Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Airways Disease and Diabetes. They give travel immunisations and advice. The nurses also give immunisations including shingles, influenza and pneumococcal.
Healthcare Assistants
Our Healthcare Assistants are Lisa, Sam and Chloe. They hold regular clinics for blood tests (which have been ordered by a doctor) and blood pressure checks. They also hold clinics for INR, NHS health checks, smoking cessation and ear irrigation. The healthcare assistants can also give some vaccinations.
Practice Manager
Administration
We have 2 Medical Secretaries. They are responsible for providing a full secretarial service for the Practice, both NHS and private referrals.
Administrative Staff. We also employ a number of administrative staff.
Receptionist
We have a Reception Supervisor Keeley Widdowson, and 9 other receptionists, who are experienced and regularly have training for their job. Please note that the reception staff act at all times in accordance with guidelines given to them by the doctors and Practice Manager.
Community Midwives
We have an attached hospital Midwife (Jessop Wing) who cares for expectant mothers and attends for the first 10 days after baby is born. She also organises parent craft classes and prepares expectant mothers for labour.
Community Nurses
We have attached District Nurses who work with your doctor in caring for you in your own home. If you are housebound please contact the surgery for more information.
Health Visitors
We have attached Health Visitors who hold Child Health Clinics by appointment. Please contact reception for contact details.
Physiotherapist
We have a physiotherapist who works in Surgery 1 day a week on a Friday.
Counsellors
We have a Talking Therapies mental health worker who works in the Surgery 1 day a week. Patients can be referred to this service by a doctor, or patients can self-refer to the service
Pharmacists
We have the services of 2 Pharmacists who work in Surgery.
