Nurses
We have three nurses Karen, Sarah and Deborah. They provide a range of nursing services including dressings, ear 'syringing, immunisations, injections and cervical smears. Both have intensive primary care experience and are happy to advise on common illnesses and injuries as well as giving dietary and other life style advice. Female patients may also wish to discuss contraception and menopausal issues with them. They run Clinics for Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Airways Disease, Diabetes, Healthy Heart and Hypertension. They give travel immunisations and advice. The nurses also give immunisations including influenza and pneumovax. |
Healthcare Assistants
Our Healthcare Assistants are Lisa, Keeley and Chloe. They hold regular clinics for blood tests (which have been ordered by a doctor), blood pressure checks and New Patient Assessments. They also hold clinics for INR, NHS health checks, smoking cessation, ear irriagtion and ECG's. |
Administration
Practice ManagerMrs. Nicola Harrison. Medical SecretariesWe have two Medical Secretaries. They are responsible for providing a full secretarial service for the Practice, both NHS and private referrals. Administrative StaffWe also employ a number of administrative staff. |
Reception
ReceptionistsWe have a Reception Supervisor Keeley Widdowson, and nine other receptionists who are experienced and regularly attend specialist courses qualifying them for their demanding job. Please note that the Reception staff act at all times in accordance with guidelines given to them by the doctors and Practice Manager. |
Community Midwives
We have an attached Midwife from Jessop Wing Hospital who cares for expectant mothers and attends for the first 10 days after baby is born. She also organises parent craft classes and prepares expectant mothers for labour. |
Community Nurses
We have attached District Nurses who work with your doctor in caring for you in your own home. If you are housebound please contact the surgery for more information. |
Health Visitors
We have attached Health Visitors who hold Child Health Clinics by appointment. Please ask at reception for contact details. |
Counsellors
We have the services of four counsellors who see patients at the surgery by appointment. Patients must be referred for this service. |
Attached Staff
We have the services of a Diabetic Nurse, who holds a clinic at the surgery once a month, and whose appointments are only by referral from the doctor. |
